Cross the Intangible Threshold
The Hierocosm is a multi-media storytelling project from composer and author Steven Lynn, combining dark fantasy and cosmic horror in the forms of short stories, albums, novels, and ambient experiences. Drawing from the well of Lovecraft, Gene Wolfe, and G.R.R.M., and exploring Catholic symbolism and typology, Lynn has invented an enchanted world of interconnected myth, wonder and horror and presented it in a truly original form.
Several short stories and an ongoing serialized novella, each with their own original soundtrack music, are currently published and available here.
Tales from the Hierocosm Vol 1. - Kingdom is the first album set in the Hierocosm, a collection of orchestral pieces in the tradition of the great fantasy soundtracks, available digitally everywhere July 26. Several more ambient pieces will follow, designed to aid and immerse readers.
Be on the lookout for The Dark Myth from Steven Lynn’s band Mythicist, out late 2024. A concept album combining elements of death metal, psychedelic rock, and grunge, this rock opera evokes the central themes and story of the Hierocosm in the heaviest way possible.
